Nine people were injured in a shooting outside Reign Event Center in the Uptown neighborhood early Sunday, according to Minneapolis police. Officers responded shortly before 12:30 a.m. to the incident at the club on the 2900 block of Hennepin Avenue.
Police say gunfire erupted outside the club following an altercation with a large crowd present. Officers from all five precincts responded due to the number of victims.
Four people were found at the scene. One 20-year-old man suffered potentially life-threatening injuries. Three others at the scene, a 21-year-old man and women ages 22 and 27, had non-life threatening injuries.
Four additional people arrived at Abbot Northwestern Hospital. A 21-year-old man was admitted with potentially life-threatening injuries. Three other men, ages 20, 21 and 22, had non-life threatening injuries. A man of unreleased age was transferred by ambulance to Hennepin Healthcare with potentially life-threatening injuries.
The victims, seven men and two women, ranged in age from 18 to 27, police said. There have been no arrests. Police are investigating whether gunshots were fired from a vehicle.
