He said the southern shipping route was created under US pressure, blocks the deal from being carried out and has raised the risk of collisions, calling it irresponsible to send ships through it with navigation systems switched off.

A civilian crew member is missing and the vessel is unable to continue the journey due to an onboard fire and significant engineroom damage.

Iran was provided yet another opportunity to demonstrate adherence to the Memorandum of Understanding after being held accountable for earlier attacks on commercial vessels but has again failed.

The two accounts do not match. The Revolutionary Guard said warning shots. Fars said a cruise missile. The ship’s name, flag and owner have not been released. There is no word on damage or injuries, or on where the ship is now.
