Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., was admitted to the hospital for an undisclosed health issue, his office confirmed. “He is receiving excellent care,” communications director David Popp told Fox News.

McConnell, 84, was previously hospitalized for eight days earlier this year after experiencing flu-like symptoms. The longest-serving Senate party leader in U.S. history announced last February that he would not seek reelection and will retire when his current term ends in January 2027.
This is a developing story.
