President Trump announced Saturday afternoon that a peace agreement with Iran has been ‘largely negotiated,’ saying the deal involves the United States, Iran, and a broad coalition of nations including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, and Bahrain. Trump posted the announcement from the Oval Office on Truth Social at 4:30 p.m.

In his post, Trump said the Strait of Hormuz will be reopened under the agreement, a significant development given that the waterway carries roughly a fifth of the world’s oil supply. ‘Final aspects and details of the Deal are currently being discussed, and will be announced shortly,’ he wrote.
The announcement lands as U.S.-Iran tensions have been among the most closely watched flashpoints in global energy markets, with the strait’s status a central pressure point for months. Trump also noted a separate call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, which he said ‘likewise, went very well,’ though he offered no details on Israel’s role in the emerging framework.
